Quick and Easy Uses for Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree oil is one of the most convenient essential oils out there being that it is antibacterial and antiviral. Tea tree oil is considered to be one of nature's most powerful antiseptics (if not the most powerful). There are so many uses for the oil that a little bottle of it can take you, your family and your home a long way.

Tea tree oil (derived from the leaves of the Australian Melaleuca alternifolia tree) is the key ingredient in many natural cleaners such as with the company, Melaleuca

(this is not a sponsored post)

. I even recently sampled a baby cleaner from Whole Foods where tea tree oil was the key ingredient and scent. I was so in love with the scent that it is what pushed me to purchase my own bottle of tea tree oil to use around our home for various purposes.

Why spend money on fancy labels and cleaners when you can make your own cleaner? With one bottle of tea tree essential oil there are a million things that you can do with it.

Okay,

maybe not really a million but a lot more than the five that I have listed below. Currently in our home we use tea tree oil for cleaning counters, bathrooms and highchairs with a tea tree oil cleaner that I made myself for less than $10 and will last me

forever

(considering that I still have like a full bottle of oil). I also currently use it to treat acne spots and to fade away former blemish marks.

Let's take a look at some of the popular uses of tea tree oil:

1.

All Purpose Cleaner.

Mix about a teaspoon of tea tree oil with a cup of water to create an all purpose cleaner to use on kitchen counters, tables, sinks and bathrooms. For deep cleaning and tough grime, consider adding a touch more tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is also safe for baby's high chair, walker, trays, etc...

2.

Treat Acne.

Dab tea tree oil on acne and blemishes to help remove oils and fade away acne spots. It is safe to use straight on the skin and does not need to be diluted or anything of that sort.

3.

Treat Mold.

Use a tea tree oil and water solution to get rid of and prevent mold in showers. Make sure to spray the area and leave the solution to set for awhile before cleaning thoroughly. Consider making this one stronger than the all purpose cleaner listed above.

4.

Treat Sunburns, Windburn, Chaffing, and Rashes.

Try mixing tea tree oil with some coconut oil to relieve sunburns. You can also add aloe vera for soothing relief and lavender oil for scent and relaxation (because after a bad sunburn you're usually

not

relaxed as you're too afraid to move a muscle).

5.

Relieve Congestion and Sinus Infection.

Tea Tree oil can be used in a vaporizer, warmer or added to a pot of boiling water for relief. Inhale the aromas and steam to relieve stuffy noses and break up congestion.

This is just a quick summary as tea tree oil can also be used for treating dry scalp, dandruff, foot fungus, body odor and so much more.

While tea tree oil is a safe and non toxic cleaner, please do not ingest tea tree oil for any reason.

What do you use tea tree oil for?
