Our Christmas Book List
There are so many Christmas books out there and I’ve been on the hunt to find some of the best ones that truly capture the true meaning of Christmas. We are trying stay away from all of the “Santa and Elf” books around here, so we have been slowly stocking up on some beautiful classics to read throughout the children’s years for Christmas here.
Below are some of the wonderful ones we have, as well as a few that are on our wishlist. We enjoy cuddling by the fire with a good Christmas story to end our day! We also incorporate these stories into our homeschool day during our Poetry Tea time.
I want Christmas books to be a beloved memory for my children. I hope we can always gather and read these sweet books each year and then eventually, with their children as well.
Twas the Evening of Christmas — A Christian spin on the classic, Twas the Night Before Christmas
God Gave Us Christmas - A sweet spin on Christmas. This book is also available as a board book!
The Littlest Angel - This is a wonderful classic that has such a powerful storyline. It is somewhat lengthy but my seven year old loved it
A Treasury of Christmas Stories and Songs - We love this book! I purchased this for a few dollars at a bargain store and it’s full of wonderful stories and classic songs. There are a couple of Santa stories, but they are so sweet. There’s some wonderful stories on the birth of Jesus.
Mr. Willowoby’s Christmas Tree - It’s a simple story but it’s just the sweetest story on how something so little can be so perfect for someone.
The Christmas Story - We have multiple books on this story, but this is an inexpensive classic!
Humphrey’s First Christmas - Another fun version of the Christmas story!
Pine Tree Parable - A book that digs into the giving of Christmas, filled with scripture as well.
Room for a Little One - A sweet book on the Christmas story as well.
Christmas Day in the Morning - A look at the spirit of giving and family from this beautiful Christmas story that takes place on a farm.
