Being Pregnant Means No Shaving
Last night as I got ready to take a shower, I decided to check and see if perhaps I needed to shave my legs. As difficult as it is becoming to shave them, it was just about as difficult to lift my leg to check it. To be honest I wasn't really checking for my benefit, more so for my husband. It was at the moment where I felt the little bit of subtle and said out loud, "pssshhh I ain't shaving that," that I realized I had that dreaded curse of prego laziness.
Don't get me wrong...my legs really aren't that bad. But for a girl who in her mind thought that perhaps her guy may rub up on her legs, you'd think I would have shaved them to make them all silky and what not.
But not this chick.
It was at that moment that I realized that this is the curse some of us fall into. As women it is important to remember that we don't always have to "show off" for our guys, but that we need to remember to every now and then. I can only imagine that being a SAHM could lead to me constantly being in sweats and covered in baby puke, but I know that sometimes I'll need to somewhat spice it up.
Men should love us no matter what we look like or smell like. True love and a real gentleman admires the hard work that a mother or working woman puts in day to day. At the same time though, we can't forget to boost our own self esteem and make ourselves feel beautiful, flirty and even a little sexy. Feeling confident makes you feel sexy and feeling sexy is a major turn on for your guy. No one says that kids or demanding jobs should wreck us of our cute clothes; fun hairstyles or expensive perfume. And surely, it shouldn't keep us from shaving.
So maybe next time I awkwardly lift my leg up under this bulging belly, I'll consider twice about shaving.
Who knows, maybe my baby daddy will try to catch a feel; and the last thing I'd want is for him to say, "Hey baby do you need some more razor blades?" Ouch.
Have you ever had one of these lazy moments?
